You can request a full refund within 7 days of your first premium payment, for any reason. After 7 days, and for every renewal payment, payments are strictly non-refundable. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund one already taken.
6.1 What the terms in this clause mean.
- “First premium payment” means the first successful payment that gives you premium access. On the Monthly plan it is the payment taken when your free trial ends, or earlier if you choose to end the trial and be charged straight away. On the Quarterly plan it is the payment taken at checkout.
- “Refund window” means the 7 calendar days beginning at the date and time of your first premium payment, as shown on your Stripe receipt. It runs once, on that one payment, and it does not restart.
- “Renewal payment” means any payment after the first premium payment, including every monthly or quarterly renewal.
6.2 Inside the refund window. If we receive your request within the refund window, we will refund your first premium payment in full. You do not have to give a reason, and it does not matter whether, or how much, you used the app. The following apply:
- Your request must reach us inside the window. The moment you send it — from Account → Support choosing “Refund request”, or from our contact page — is the moment that counts, not the moment we reply.
- The refund goes back to the payment method you paid with. We normally issue it within five business days of your request; your bank or card issuer may take longer to show it.
- Premium access ends when the refund is issued, and your subscription is cancelled. Your account and the free tier remain.
- One refund per person. If you have already been refunded under this clause, on any account, a later purchase is not eligible.
- A refund is not available where the account has been used in breach of clause 8, or where the request forms part of a pattern of repeated purchases and refunds.
6.3 After the refund window. Once the refund window has ended, your first premium payment is non-refundable, in whole or in part. This applies whether or not you used the app, and regardless of your examination result, your readiness score, a change of plan, or cancellation partway through a period you have paid for. You keep premium access until the end of that period.
6.4 Renewal payments. Renewal payments are non-refundable. The refund window applies only to your first premium payment; it does not apply to any renewal. Every renewal can be avoided by cancelling before the renewal date shown under Account → Billing, which you may do at any time and without giving a reason.
6.5 Charges made in error. The refund window does not apply to our mistakes, and we will not make you argue for these: a duplicate payment, a charge taken after we confirmed your cancellation, or a charge on an account that was never given premium access will be refunded whenever you tell us about it.
6.6 Why these terms. This is a digital product delivered immediately and in full at the first payment. You agree to these terms, including this clause, at sign-up and again on the checkout page, before any payment is taken, and we email you a written copy of your agreement, including this refund policy, when your subscription starts. That copy, your acceptance, and the record of when your account accessed premium content are kept.
6.7 Disputes with your card issuer. If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first — we resolve genuine errors under 6.5 without a dispute, and refunds inside the refund window under 6.2. If you instead dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer (a “chargeback”):
- your subscription is cancelled and premium access ends when the dispute is opened, and no further payments are taken;
- we will give the issuer these terms as you accepted them, your recorded acceptance of them, the written copy sent to you, and the records of your account’s sign-ins and use of premium content;
- a dispute is not a refund request under 6.2, and does not replace one;
- if the dispute is decided in our favour, the amount remains payable, and premium access is not restored unless it is paid; and
- we may decline later purchases from anyone who has disputed a charge for access they received, on any account.
This does not limit any right you have to ask your card issuer to reverse a charge under the law (see 6.8).
6.8 Your legal rights. Nothing in this clause limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act (Alberta), including the Internet Sales Contract Regulation, or under any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. If any part of this clause cannot be enforced, the rest of it still applies.
